Dear friends of piano music,
“It was all for the cat”, which means something like
“it was all in vain”. A German saying that sounds cute, although it means
something very bitter and resigned. Yes, this proverbial cat is getting a lot
of thought from all sides right now. Starting with the piece I had planned for
today, which I had really practiced with devotion, and then I took thirteen
recordings of it yesterday and then almost cried with anger. Then winter has
returned, at the beginning of March, after it had already started to bud and
bloom outside, there is now bitterly cold night frost again, so that one has to
worry about the tender plants - hopefully it wasn't all for the cat. What was
right for the cat, however, is our currently ongoing lockdown, which did not
lead to the expected relaxation and thus to the opening, to the resumption of
public life as an expected reward for the privations and restrictions, but
directly into the third wave. Only the mutants party here, who, despite the
relative standstill, spread cheerfully everywhere. What we are good at in
Germany are things like the General Data Protection Regulation, bureaucracy
that is supposed to ensure order, but in the worst case paralyzes everything.
What we cannot do at all is online lessons, quick and effective vaccination
..... there is an incredibly complicated procedure with which vaccination
appointments are assigned. and when people do have an appointment, they'd
rather not go because they just want a top-notch vaccine. Then we have to go on
with Corona.
My posts, which are simply not supported by Youtube as
a search engine, are often similar for the cat. The algorithm doesn't seem to
like me. But what he likes are cats. So, please don't be scared or upset if I
might appear dressed up as a cat in the near future. The algorithm loves cats,
cute kittens at the piano get clicks in the millions. So maybe it would finally
not be for the cat if I acted as a cat?
For everyone who is disgruntled or despondent like me,
there is Chopin today, “dolente”. Cheer up, we can do it!
best regards
Kerstin
